Vaultwarden Backups

Vaultwarden Backups is an owner-operated integration that uses rclone to store encrypted backups of a personal Vaultwarden vault in the owner’s Google Drive account. It is intended for the owner’s own use.

How Backups Work

The integration encrypts complete backup archives before uploading them. Archives cover vault data, attachments, and the configuration needed for restoration. It reads backup file metadata and downloads encrypted archives to verify uploads and support recovery. It removes older archives according to the configured retention schedule.

Google Drive Access

The integration requests only the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file permission. This permission covers files created by the application or explicitly granted to it. The backup configuration uses an application-created backup folder; it does not request access to unrelated Drive files.

Privacy & Support

Google receives encrypted archive content and associated metadata. OAuth credentials are kept in protected server storage. This site contains no login form and does not collect credentials.
